Which AI model should a Dubai business use in 2026? A practical guide to Claude, GPT, Gemini and Arabic models (Jais, ALLaM, Falcon), with a 10-minute Arabic test.
Most Dubai businesses should start with one frontier model on a business plan, at about 73 to 92 AED per seat per month, and only look at an Arabic-specific model if they need self-hosting or data-residency control. The deciding test is not a benchmark chart. It is 20 of your own real tasks, in Arabic and English, run through two or three models.
I run ForgeApp, a one-person AI-native app studio in Dubai. I have not run a formal benchmark of these models, and I am not going to pretend otherwise. What follows is how I would choose for a clinic, salon, broker or SME, with every outside number linked to its source. Model lineups change monthly, so I name vendors, not version numbers.
Start by splitting the question in two. A model you chat with (a seat for your staff) is a different decision from a model inside a product you build (an AI receptionist, a WhatsApp agent, an internal tool).
For staff seats, pick one of Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini and standardise. Running three subscriptions "to compare" is how a 10-person firm ends up paying for 30 seats nobody uses. If your team already lives in Google Workspace, Gemini comes bundled with Workspace plans, and quoted US prices run from about 7 to 22 dollars per user per month according to eWeek's AI pricing cheat sheet. If you live in Microsoft 365, look at what your plan already includes before buying anything.
For products you build, the model is a swappable part. A good build keeps the model behind one setting so you can change vendors when prices or quality shift. That is the single most useful design decision, and it is cheap to make on day one.
| Option | Who makes it | Typical entry price (AED, per seat per month) | Best for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Claude (Team or Pro) | Anthropic | ~73 (annual) to ~92 (monthly), converted from $20 to $25 | Long documents, careful writing, coding help | Test Arabic tone on your own text |
| ChatGPT Business | OpenAI | ~73 (annual) to ~92 (monthly), converted from $20 to $25 | Broadest ecosystem, voice and image tools | Plan names and limits change often |
| Gemini | Bundled with Workspace; about 26 to 81 AED for the Workspace plan | Teams already on Gmail, Docs, Meet | Check which Gemini features your plan includes | |
| Jais 2 | Inception (G42), MBZUAI, Cerebras | Open weights: no seat fee, but you pay for hosting | Arabic-first, self-hosting, sovereignty needs | You manage hosting and quality yourself |
| Falcon-H1 Arabic | TII (Abu Dhabi) | Open weights, same as above | Arabic-first, self-hosting | Company-reported benchmarks |
| ALLaM | HUMAIN (Saudi Arabia) | HUMAIN Chat app; check current availability | Arabic and Gulf context | Launched Saudi-only; verify UAE availability |
Prices for the first two rows come from the $20 annual and $25 monthly standard-seat figures reported in eWeek and AI Zolo's cost breakdown, converted at the 3.6725 dirham peg to the dollar (The National). Vendors change plans often. Treat the table as a ballpark and check the vendor page before paying.
They are the Arabic-first models, and two of the three come from the UAE.
An important caveat: these are the developers' own benchmark claims. I found no independent verification, and a leaderboard average does not tell you how a model handles a Dubai clinic's WhatsApp message that mixes Arabic, English and a doctor's name. Benchmarks are a reason to test a model, not a reason to skip testing.
I do not know, and anyone who answers confidently without seeing your text is guessing. Arabic quality depends on the task. Formal Modern Standard Arabic (a letter, a policy, a website page) is generally easier than Gulf dialect, and code-switching inside one sentence is the hard case. The same pattern shows up in voice; I covered it in Arabic AI phone answering: what works and what fails.
So run this 10-minute test. It costs nothing and beats any ranking.
If one model wins clearly, use it. If two tie, pick the cheaper or the one that fits your tools.
Three situations make it worth the extra work:
Outside those cases, hosting your own 70-billion-parameter model is the more expensive and more fragile path for a business with 15 staff. I would not recommend it as a default.
A small team of five on standard business seats pays roughly 370 to 460 AED per month in subscriptions (5 seats at $20 to $25). Products you build cost more: an AI receptionist from ForgeApp is 3,000 to 4,000 AED setup plus 600 to 900 AED per month. I break the full stack down with a worked example in how much AI really costs a UAE SME per month.
Four habits:
This is also why I hand over source code and accounts on every build.
For a Dubai SME with no special data constraints: one frontier model on a business seat plan for staff, one weekend of testing, and a written rule on what staff may paste into it. For a product that talks to customers in Arabic: test two or three models on your own messages and keep the choice switchable. For a regulated or sovereignty-sensitive case: bring in an Arabic open-weight model and a lawyer.
For most small businesses, a business plan of one frontier model (Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini) at roughly 20 to 25 US dollars per seat per month is the right start. Pick by running 20 of your own real tasks, in Arabic and English, through two or three of them.
The developers report strong results on Arabic benchmarks, for example TII says Falcon-H1 Arabic 34B scores 75.36 percent on the Open Arabic LLM Leaderboard. Those are company-reported benchmark scores, not a guarantee for your customer emails. Test on your own text.
Usually not. You may want one if you need to run a model on your own servers, keep data inside a specific jurisdiction, or fine-tune on your own Arabic content. For writing, summarising and customer replies, a general frontier model is the simpler start.
ChatGPT Business and Claude Team standard seats are quoted at about 20 US dollars per user per month on annual billing, or 25 monthly. At the 3.6725 dirham peg that is roughly 73 to 92 AED per seat per month.
Yes, if you build for it. Keep your prompts, data and workflows in your own accounts and avoid tools that lock your content inside one vendor. Every ForgeApp build hands you the code and the accounts for this reason.
Want an AI setup that fits your business, not a vendor's demo?
Vendor prices and Arabic model claims were checked in October 2026 from the linked pages and press releases. They are the vendors' own figures and change often.
